Sustainability

Mission

Our Quest for exceptional Ancien Pinot Noir began over 30 years ago, sparking a journey that has led us to discover some of the most unique and outstanding vineyard sites across the region.

Our portfolio now includes vineyard properties from renowned cool-climate terroirs, including Sta. Rita Hills, Carmel Valley, Russian River Valley, Sonoma Mountain, Sonoma Coast, Carneros (Napa), Coombsville, and as far north as Oregon. Each of our hand-crafted wines reflects the distinctive character of its soil and climate, where nature’s elements come together in perfect harmony.

Farming

Our vineyard-designate wines are a true collaboration between us and the dedicated local growers. In many instances, we’ve partnered from the ground up, carefully selecting the right Pinot Noir clones, trellising methods, and rootstocks to ensure the best possible expression of each site.

Over the past three decades, we’ve committed to farming practices that emphasize organic principles and sustainable agriculture. We use time-honored techniques to nurture the soil and minimize our environmental footprint, including cover cropping, composting in place of chemical fertilizers, and minimizing irrigation to promote vine health and quality. This philosophy extends to every aspect of our operation, including the selection of our suppliers for bottling and packaging, ensuring that each step aligns with our commitment to sustainability.
